We recently completed work on a new corporate identity for the Burke County Chamber of Commerce. The identity included development of a new logo form, typographic standards and corporate colors as well as graphic standards for use throughout their print materials, website, and Internet marketing stategies.

The trademark design centers around Burke County’s natural resources and its proximity to Interstate 40 while putting emphasis on the County Seat and downtown Morganton’s business community. The iconic Historic Burke County Courthouse copula is placed between the foothills and the mountains as represented by Table Rock & Hawksbill. The foreground is given to abstract representations of rolling foothills, the Catawba River and Interstate 40.

Cool colors with emphasis on blue hues were chosen to be business friendly and inviting. A large type family was selected for its clean functionality and lack of distracting decorative nonsense.

Designed to hold up under reduction, the new logo can be reproduced in 1, 2 or 3 spot colors. As always, the final package delivered to the Client included their files in all common formats including vector-based EPS format for scalability without loss.
